Curator Suggest Terms View Mockup
(Note: This interface is based in part on the DSpace Authority Control implementation. )
1. Mockup of Edit Item Menu
A new menu item "Suggest Terms" will be displayed on the "Edit Item" view.
2. Mockup of Curator Suggest Terms page
Article title and abstract are displayed read-only for curator reference. Suggested terms are automatically generated and included alongside existing author- or curator-assigned terms (subject, taxononomic name, geographic area, geologic timespan).
Fields are in one of the following states:
The curator can accept a suggested term by selecting the "accept" button. The curator may "control" a term by selecting the "lookup" icon.
- Accepted: Term has been located in controlled vocabulary and accepted by user.
- Not accepted: Term exists in the controlled vocabulary but has not been accepted by the user.
- Unknown: Term does not exist in the controlled vocabulary
2. Lookup term
The curator can lookup a term in the controlled vocabulary associated with the current field. This is modeled after the DSpace authority lookup interface. Selecting the "lookup" icon from the Suggested Terms page displays the Lookup window with the selected term as the search term. The curator can enter any term in the search box or browse the controlled vocabulary. The curator can select a term. Selecting "Accept" will add the term to the current record.
