Sam Kome will be visiting Dryad during June/July 2011. Scheduling note: Ryan, Kevin, and Elena will be attending Open Repositories during the second week of June. If Sam does not attend the conference, he will need a useful project to work on during this time.

Benefits to Sam:

  • learn about the technology of Dryad
  • learn best practices for digital repository development (both technical and social)
  • possibly identify areas of integration for Dryad and the Claremont University Consortium

Benefits to Dryad:

  • receive outside advice on technology decisions
  • identify streamlined workflows for curators and depositors
  • receive assistance with small programming projects
  • possibly identify areas of integration for Dryad and the Claremont University Consortium

Projects

Potential projects for Sam to work on:

  • workflow analysis -- Diagram the workflows associated with data submission and curation. Identify inefficiencies and possible optimizations.
  • IR integration -- Identify methods for Institutional Repositories to share data content with Dryad.
  • small programming projects -- assist with bugfixes and small enhancements as time allows (the exact projects cannot be identified until a month before Sam's visit)
