Splunk is particularly useful for analyzing log files.

It is installed on the dev server in /opt/splunk, and reads the contents of that server's apache logs continuously.

To analyze other log files, copy them onto the dev server, and use the splunk option to Add Data, Monitor, Files and Directories.
